Andrew Neiderman, Author. Ghostwriter for V.C. Andrews

Andrew Neiderman was born in Brooklyn. His family moved to the Catskills of New York when he was an infant. He is3 a graduate of State University of Albany where he received his Masters in English. He taught at Fallsburg High School for 23 years before leaving to pursue a career as a novelist and screenwriter. As a teacher, he served as department chairman, faculty president, county teachers association president, director of dramatics and wrestling coach. He has been married for forty-four years to the former Diane Wilson of Fallsburg and they have two children, Melissa, a teacher at the Palm Valley School in Rancho Mirage, California, and Erik, a private commercial jet pilot. The Neidermans have three grandchildren.

Andrew Neiderman (born October 26, 1940) is an American novelist. In 1987, he became the ghost writer for V. C. Andrews following her death in 1986. He formerly taught English at Fallsburg Jr./Sr. High School, in upstate New York.

Neiderman is arguably best known as the author of The Devil's Advocate, later adapted into a film starring Keanu Reeves, Al Pacino, and Charlize Theron, and directed by Taylor Hackford. Neiderman also adapted the novel Rain into a film, based on a series of novels released under Andrews's name.

Neiderman wrote the stage adaptation of Flowers in the Attic based on the novel by V.C. Andrews, published online in 2014. The world premiere was produced in New Orleans, Louisiana, in August 2015 by See 'Em On Stage: A Production Company and was directed by Christopher Bentivegna.

Neiderman has written the libretto for a musical stage adaptation of The Devil's Advocate.

He also co-authored the screenplay for Duplicates, a USA Network cable movie, and has had six of his other novels adapted into films.

With the publication of Guardian Angel by Dorchester Publishers in January 2010, Neiderman has, between his V. C. Andrews novels and those under his name, reached 125 published novels.

A resident of Palm Springs, California, Neiderman was honored with a Golden Palm Star on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars on October 17, 1997.

    This past March 1st, marked the 37th year Andrew Neiderman has continued the V.C. Andrews franchise, one of the world’s biggest literary franchises and the longest continually running.

    Palm Springs resident Andrew Neiderman had his 74th V.C. Andrews publication, Sage’s Eyes, published in March.

    Along with his own publications, 46, the most famous of which is The Devil’s Advocate, Neiderman has already gone over 115 published novels, seven of which had been adapted into films. He has co-authored the screenplay for Duplicates on one and written the screenplay for V.C. Andrews’ RAIN that featured Academy Award winner Faye Dunaway and nominee Robert Loggia.

    Since Neiderman began his V.C. Andrews authorship, the franchise has gone from just under 30 million books worldwide to now just over 106 million. V.C. Andrews has been published independently in 95 countries and translated into 24 languages. The international scope of the franchise continues this day with publications through the 45 UK countries, Holland and Germany, among others.

    Created by Neiderman, the Official V.C. Andrews Facebook page is now over 144,000 friends and fans and was declared the seventh most explosive Facebook page in terms of rallying members.

    Neiderman and his producing partner Dan Angel of Everywhere Studios had successfully developed five straight V.C.
