Plot
In 1960s, Chennai (Madras then), a police officer and a social worker give speech about ban of cigarettes in All India Radio. Then three men gets out from a car. They were thieves and led by Elisamy alias Eli, a petty thief (who once aspired to become a police officer), who pretends to be a captured-thief who has sold all his robbery items to a jewellery shop owner. The jewellery shop owner had no contact with him and his henchmen dressed as police take all the items pointed out and pretend to arrest Eli and loot the shop. He uses his tricks and loots many other places. One day he enters the house of retired police officer Rangarajan who had rejected him at the police selection. He loots everything except his photograph, in revenge. When the currentIG Mohanraj arrives to meet Rangarajan, Eli pretends as though Rangarajan had vacated his house and he is performing rituals and not to disturb him. When the police officer meets Rangarajan on the way he is shocked to find that he had been tricked and Eli had looted the house.
Poochi Murugan seeks Police protection against Radharavi
Ahead of the Nadigar Sangam Elections to be conducted on October 18, actor Poochi Murugan who is one of the candidates contesting for membership in Executive Council on behalf of Vishal's Pandavar Ani has sought Police protection and lodged complaint against actor and Nadigar Sangam General Secretary Radharavi in Mylapore and Kodambakkam Police stations, for causing threat to his life.
Murugan has alleged that the way Radharavi spoke in Friday's meeting to introduce the candidates contesting on behalf of the incumbent President Sarathkumar's team was a death threat to him and that's why he has sought Police security for him at his house and election venue located at Mylapore.
Murugan is the one who obtained a High Court Stay order on the agreement between Nadigar Sangam and SPI Cinemas to build a mall in Sangam's land.
Nadigar Sangam members meet TFPC members to discuss Dhanush's ban and other issues
In response, members of the Nadigar Sangam met with the office bearers of the Tamil Film Producers' Council. The meeting was chaired by Nassar, the president of the Nadigar Sangam, and attended by Vice President Poochi Murugan, Treasurer Karthi, and other Executive Committee members. General Secretary Vishal and Vice President Karunasparticipated via video conferencing.
Nassar addressed the press and media, stating, “Our objective is to improve and expand the film industry. We have made decisions regarding the recent regulations imposed by the TFPC and would like to schedule a meeting to discuss these issues further. We prefer not to handle these matters through the press.” Both the TFPC and the Nadigar Sangam are committed to maintaining a collaborative relationship to foster the growth of the Tamil film industry and are working together to resolve the current issues.
