After the pause of new programming at Worldwide FM, Africa Is a Country Radio has been on hold. So, today, Africa Is a Country is happy to announce a new partnership with Rhythm Lab Radio, a weekly, NPR-syndicated program produced at Radio Milwaukee studios. With the tagline “redefining the urban sound,” Rhythm Lab Radio has been promoting new and classic sounds from around the global underground for nearly 19 years. In the partnership, AIAC will be conducting on-air interviews and programming thematic shows, particularly around African music. The interviews will be published as extended transcripts on Africa Is a Country. Our first interview is the following, conducted with Cape Verdean-Dutch singer Nelson Freitas on the occasion of the release of his latest album, Black Butterfly.
